Christmas came early this year because Jitterbug has just arrived all the way from Coyote Run Miniature Donkey Farm in Arkansas. She is a gorgeous masked spotted light red who is covered in beautiful dapples from her head to her tail. She has four white legs and the largest blaze face you have ever seen. Jitterbug is trained for driving and in-hand. We have always loved and admired this jennet when we saw her competing in NMDA shows so when she was offered for sale I jumped at the chance to own her. This is one very fancy performance donkey and we absolutely love her! Thank you to Jerry and Belinda Whitley for allowing me to own Jitterbug and for doing such a fine job of training this fabulous jennet. Jitterbug was previously trained for in-hand by Sandi Costa and trained for driving by Debbie Lee.
A special thank you to my side kick, Katie Randall, for the fantastic job she did handling this jennet. Everything you see from the trail obstacles to her driving was done for the very first time with no practice runs. Both of these girls are amazing and I am so blessed to have them in my life.
We think that Jitterbug is a barren jennet and that is fine by us. We will use her for a show jennet only.
Jitterbug has produced the following foal: 1) Information coming soon but the foal is now residing in France.
HHAA Pony -Tailed Lass
The official mascot of Half Ass Acres!
This jennet will NEVER be used for breeding!

Bow's baby was breech and she was in labor for nearly two hours before
our vet arrived who was on another call and delivered the baby alive! A true miracle...she is a gorgeous, tiny,
dark spot but she was born without a tail or anus. We took her to UT Vet Hospital where they constructed her anus. A big thank you to our own personal and wonderful vet, Dr. Greg Harris, for saving her life!!!!

Click here to read about her fundraiser for her operation! Pony-Tail will NEVER be for sale..don't
even ask!! She was sent to us by our friends in Heaven to be a forever mascot
at Half Ass Acres.
Pony-Tail is continuing to do well and is as happy as she can
be running around our farm.
Pony-Tail will never be used for breeding, of course, and she will always be the mascot at Half Ass Acres for she truly has just half of an ass!! New photos above were taken on August 31st, 2010, with our great friend's, Maria Randall, assistance!

is a dark brown and white, apron face, with no light points, jennet. When she is body clipped she is so dark that she looks like a black/roan and white spot.
has attended parades, birthday parties, graduations, nursing homes, etc., and she is brave enough to enter any building or do anything that you ask of her.
She never meets a stranger and she is not intimated by much of anything. Whenever she performs she does it with her whole heart. As an example of this when she is jumping the blue barrels in the video it was her first time. You can see that she would try to jump over the moon if you asked.
She is up to date on hoof trims, de-wormings and all vaccinations including West Nile, Rabies, Eastern/Western Encephalomyelitis, Tetanus, Rhino and Influenza. She has a negative coggins test dated 3/13/15. L is double registered with the Miniature Donkey Registry and The American Council of Spotted Asses..
UPDATE!!! This little girl had upper fixation of the patella in both rear legs. Lady Like had an operation on April 9th, 2015, that corrected this condition but it is hereditary and she should not be bred as the condition could be passed on. Our vet advised us to teach her how to drive and to put two twenty-five lb. buckets (for a total of 50 lbs.) of sand in the cart since she was too young to pull a full size adult. Dena line drove her everywhere and this is how L was the winner of the driving award for 2014, with nearly 60 hours pulling a cart. Lady Like is now old enough to pull a cart with an adult driving.
Not for sale at this time as she is recovering from her leg operation and doing just great. We may offer her for sale at a later date when her stitches are removed and her incisions have healed but she is doing so well we may just keep her for another ambassador donkey at Half Ass Acres. Roger said he could use the help. Both Roger and L were trained by Dena Wilson to pull a cart and we are having so much fun with them both.
Please forgive me but I just cannot part with this donkey at this time. As long as I remain in good health she is here to stay.

Shawnee Moon is our one and only mammoth donkey at Half Ass Acres. She was my 2013 Christmas present from my wonderful husband Joe although he never knew it until the day she arrived. She was born, raised and trained by Candice Shauger at Genesis Farm in Bremen, Ohio. We were unable to show Moon at the Great Celebration and Donkey Show this year due to a family emergency but we did manage to take her to her first show a few weeks later and she stood Grand Champion Jennet of the Bedford County Fair plus she won a very large color class too! What a sweetheart and sensible lady this girl is. I really love her and she rides like a dream. Thank you to Candace for doing such a great job training this lady and for allowing her to come live at Half Ass Acres. Shawnee does a wonderful job of guarding our moms and foals when she is not being shown or ridden for pleasure.
