We fell in love with Stardance when Jane Savage and I were in Texas visiting Itsy
Bitsy Burro Co and we just had to have her. She is just as sweet as she
is beautiful! Stardance stays black all year round. She doesn't turn brown even
when left out in the sun. She is black as coal in the summertime or when body clipped. She is measuring just under 30½" tall as well. We will take new photos and videos next spring after we body clip her again.
Update: We are having trouble getting Stardance to settle back in foal. We will have her examined by a reproduction specialist and if she is barren we will be selling her as a pet. Update: Stardance was vet checked by vet to be free of any infection or problems.
Stardance was hand bred to Kryptonite on October 13th for a 2020 foal. We are having trouble getting Stardance in foal again so she may still be open.
Stardance is the dam of the following foals:
1) HHAA Tiny Dancer, Dark Spotted Jennet, DOB 7/20/10 - DOD 8/02/10 (Tiny Dancer had badly contracted tendons that the vets were unable to repair during her operation. They suggested that the humane thing to do was to put her down. It was beyond heartbreaking.) - (Sire: Napoleon); 2) HHAA Dance Much? (Tango), 8/02/13, Black w/cross Jack w/NLP, (Sire: Jealous Much);
3) Stardance was ultrasounded by our vet and was found to be open so we have placed her in a pet home. It was very hard to let this outstanding jennet go.

She has not been registered but I am applying for her registration to the American Donkey & Jackstock Registry although her pedigree is unknown. She will also be registered with ACOSA (American Council of Spotted Asses). She has been microchiped. We have sold our red herd sire to reduce our herd to a more manageable number so we are now offering Farrah for sale. You won't be disappointed in her. She is super friendly and up to date on all vaccinations including rabies, west nile, eastern/western encephalitis, rhino, influenza and botulism plus de-worming. Taffy is a small, very stocky, masked spotted jennet which means she can produce a spot no matter what she is bred to. She will always have a 50/50 chance of producing a spotted foal. She belonged to my side kick, Katie, who was selling her to pay for her dream horse. I just could not resist her.
Update. I did not want to part with this girl but I had to swap her back to Katie for another jennet that I really wanted. We are retaining Taffy's 2019 foal for our breeding program.
Taffy is now resting after her 2019 foal was weaned.

Bell
is a very stocky little jennet. She is wide bodied, has good, straight legs
and bone, and has the prettiest little dish face. We have always admired Bell's sire, Flight
of Fancy Cardinal RG, and her grand sire, My
World Winston, so we were very pleased to add her to our herd. Bell has a nice round rear end, a perfect bite with show quality conformation with a super wide chest to die for. She is friendly, sweet and a comical donkey to have around. Bell has been DNA tested at The Texas A& M University.
A special 'thank-you' to Dena Wilson who expertly handled Bell for her photo session.
We sold Bell in 2009 and she returned to Half Ass Acres in 2016. She has only had one foal since she has been gone. Bell's previous owner decided she was just too nice of a jennet to not be reproducing and offered her back to us.
Bets is the product of two National Champions and it shows from her head to her tail! She was sold for $10,000 as a newborn and we purchased her back from her owners who were having health problems and moving and had no room for donkeys. Bets has been pasture exposed to Speedy for a foal due in November of 2020. Photos and videos were taken on July 20th, 2015, with the expert help of Katie Randall.

This donkey is being sold for the John Willard Estate. John sadly suddenly passed away earlier this year and his family has asked us to find perfect homes for all of John's beloved donkeys.
Trick-a-Boo was the first foal ever born at Troytown Acres and she had never been off the farm until she arrived at Half Ass Acres. She was registered by inspection due to an accidental breeding of her dam by a jack who was visiting the farm where her dam lived at the time. Can we say 'parenthesis ears'!! She has the best set of ears in the miniature donkey world and she knows how to use them. Trickster never backs an ear! She is an easy breeder and all of her foals have been healthy. She is a wonderful mother. She loves to be groomed and petted on. She will roll her head when she is agitated. She has been known to 'borrow' foals from her friends. This will make her invaluable if you should ever, God forbid, lose a mom with a foal on her side.
Tricksie is up to date on all vaccinations including Eastern/Western Encephalitis, Tetanus, West Nile, Rabies, Rhino and Influenza. She is registered and microchipped and her transfer and papers are in order. She has a negative coggins report dated 3/13/19.
She was exposed to a young two year old spotted jack, Brayfields Mr Appy, from Oct. 25th thru early December in 2018. She is selling as exposed but not guaranteed as the jack she was exposed to is still young and unproven. Tricksie should be due to foal in October/November/December of 2019. We are reducing her price because she is not guaranteed to be in foal. We have NOT observed her in season since she has been on our farm since February of this year.

Trick-a-Boo has had the following foals:

2) 2007, Troytown's Code Book, gray/white spotted gelding;
3) 2008, Troytown's ReCoded Trick, black jennet;
4) 2009, Troytown's Area Code, gray/white spotted jennet;
5) 2018, a spotted jack sired by Donkette Korral Kryptonite.
6) Her next foal may be due in the fall of 2019 but we are not sure she settled.

Kimmie was last de-wormed with Equimax that kills tapeworms and many other worms on 3/13/19.
Kimmie was exposed to a national champion spotted jack, Big Woods Secret Code, from June thru July in 2018. She is selling as exposed but not guaranteed but she appears to be very much in foal as you can tell from the photos.
Kimmie has the very tip of her ears frozen off but you can barely tell. Someone must have left her out in the cold when she was a baby. Kimmie is a very heavy-boned girl. This jennet is super sweet, easy to catch and handle. She is very friendly as well. If Kammie is not sold soon we will keep her until she foals and sell her and the baby together or separately after weaning. Kimmie needs to have her teeth floated by an equine dentist at least once per year because she had a fractured tooth pulled in 2015 and the vet recommended that she be checked once or twice per year from then on. She appears to have no problem with her teeth at this time as you can tell by her weight. Kimmie weighs 239 lbs at this time. This is really a beautiful jennet but it is hard to tell with her shaggy winter coat. It is still too cold to body clip this early in the year.

Brown Sugar is a beautiful mover as you can see from her video. She is a very sweet jennet that is easy to handle but hard to catch. She was mistreated in her younger years and she has a hard time trusting people. But once you catch her she couldn't be nicer. She wears a break-a-way halter that will be sold with her. She gets along fine with other donkeys in the herd. She is easy to trim her hooves and to wash, clip and photograph...she is just the perfect lady. Along with her eye-catching movement she also has the most perfect topline you could ask for. She passes these traits on to her foals. She is also a size reducer as all of her foals have matured smaller than Sugar.
Sugar is up to date on all vaccinations including Eastern/Western Encephalitis, Tetanus, West Nile, Rabies, Rhino and Influenza. She is registered and microchipped and her papers are in order. We forgot to photograph her bite but it is perfect. She has a negative coggins report dated 3/13/19.

This donkey is being sold for the John Willard Estate. John sadly suddenly passed away last month and his family has asked us to find perfect homes for all of John's beloved donkeys.
Fancy is the herd boss and because of that she tends to get heavy because of stealing grain from her pasture mates. She is a great mom and has easy births. I so wanted to keep this jennet because of her unusual coloring, the champion foals she has produced and because of her sweet nature but, we already have her daughter in our herd and we just can't keep anymore. Fancy Felicia has been exposed to Big Woods Secret Code for a late fall 2019 foal. She is selling as exposed but not guaranteed but she certainly appears to be in foal.

Our last foal born for the 2018 season and she is a dandy. CC or Encore (we can't decide on a barn name) is super friendly and a very special lady. We will gladly take payments until she is weaned. This little lady knows just how special she is and we are so very tempted to keep her.
El-Leigh arrived at Half Ass Acres with her life long buddy, Oak Knoll Katie. El-Leigh has been exposed to Rojo for her first foal to arrive in January of 2019.
We have found the most wonderful home for El-Leigh, her new foal and her life long best friend, Katie. When the foal is old enough to travel we will be delivering all three of them to their new home.
Congratulations to Charlie Smith!

Katie arrived at Half Ass Acres with her life long buddy, Wit's End Miss El-Leigh. They have been together their whole lives so I did not want to separate them. Katie is now pastured with Kryptonite for a foal due May 23rd, 2019. This will be Katie's one and only foal as we will retire her to a life of leisure after this foal is on the ground. Katie is built like a solid little tank and we just know she is going to have a show prospect for us if she is able to settle in foal. Photos and videos of Katie will be posted soon although we may wait until next spring when we can body clip her.
Update! Katie came back in season on 10/18/18. We will place her in a pet home after her best friend's foal has been born and weaned so that they can remain together. We feel like she just has too much age on her to try again.
We have found the most wonderful home for El-Leigh, her new foal and her life long best friend, Katie. When the foal is old enough to travel we will be delivering all three of them to their new home in Georgia.

Presenting Secret Code...a proven Champion producer and a multiple Champion himself. This jack is so full of personalty that we play with him all day long. He could not have a nicer temperement or be easier to handle. The only thing he objects to is having his ears and his lower legs clipped. But we found that if you don't try to rush him and take your time he will tolerate it.
Code loves any kind of attention you will give him. He is quite intelligent too and picks up new things in record time with a willing attitude. Code has won Best of Breed and Grand Champion Jack several times in his show career. He was also the American Council of Spotted Asses National Champion. He was the South Carolina State Fair Grand Champion for five years in a row. He is trained well for halter and in-hand obstacles. It would not take long to teach him how to drive and what a sharp looking driving donkey he would make.
He is an easy breeder and has been pastured with jennets for most of his breeding career.
He has sired over 25 foals and 15 of those foals have been spotted making his percentage of producing spots at 60%. He has sired 13 jennets and 12 jacks.
Code is double registered and microchipped and his papers are in order. He has a negative coggins report dated 3/11/19.
Code is a really fun donkey to own. If you want him on your farm you better hurry and put down a deposit as I don't think he will last for long. This is the first donkey we are listing for the John Willard Estate. We sold this fine jack in 2017 to John and sadly John just passed away. His family lives seven hours away so they asked us to bring his donkeys to our farm and sell them to the best homes we could find for them. If we did not already have so many jacks here of our own we would not hesitate to keep this jack for ourselves. We really love having him back on our farm.
Sold to Ropesville, Texas!!
Here is a list of most of the foals that Code has produced less the ones born in 2018 that I do not have a list of:
2006:
Troytown's Sugar Coded,
a small 30¼" tri-colored spotted jack;
Troytown's Dress Code, black jennet;
Troytown's Miscoded Trick, black jennet;
Troytown's DeCoded Traveller, gray jack;
Troytowns' CodaCrome, gray/white spotted jack;
Troytown's Code Breaker, black jennet;
Troytown's Codak Moment, spotted jack.
2007:
Troytown's Code Blue, a gray/white spotted gelding;
Troytown's Zip Code, black jack w/nlp;
Troytown's Code Blue, gray/white spotted jack.
2009: Troytown's Code of Conduct, a small tri-colored champion jennet now owned by Brayberry Farm in Arkansas;
Troytown's Area Code, spotted jennet;
Troytown's Code of Silence, 32" black/white tyger spotted jennet now owned by Half Ass Acres.
2012: Troytown's Code Violation, a 31¼" tri-colored jennet now owned by Shane Carey in Australia;
2014: Troytown's Mud Pi Coded, a nice gray jennet;
2015: Troytown's Code Adjustment, a gray/white spotted gelding.

Shimmy's third foal is here! Shameless ShAmy (as Katie calls him) has darkened up since we took these pictures and videos. We haven't kept any of Shimmy's foals since she had Roger so we are thinking of keeping ShAmy to buddy up with Roger one day so he will have someone to play with that is his own size. We are going to leave him intact for now so we can have a few tiny foals for our customers that prefer them as pets.

This donkey is being sold for the John Willard Estate. John sadly suddenly passed away last month and his family has asked us to find perfect homes for all of John's beloved donkeys.
Appy is up to date on all vaccinations including Eastern/Western Encephalitis, Tetanus, West Nile, Rabies, Rhino and Influenza. He was given a booster vaccination of Prestige 5 + West Nile virus on 3/111/19. He has a negative coggins report dated 3/13/19. He has been microchipped and his registration papers are in order. His hooves will be freshly trimmed before he leaves for his new home and he has been de-wormed twice in the past two months.
Appy is a very sweet and laid back jack. He is pastured with my geldings now and you never hear a peep out of him. He was pasture exposed to two jennets last fall but we don't know if he settled them in foal yet as it is too early to tell. He is very friendly and easy to handle. He has a perfect bite, heavy bone structure and correct legs. He just needs a little weight on him to look his best. He measures less than 32½" tall and he has a big black spot on his left rear buttock. No matter who you breed Mr Appy to he will always have a 50/50% chance of producing a spotted foal. His pedigree is completely full with no empty spots nor any repeats. We will consider dropping his price to the right home or if you desire Appy as a gelding. His temperament will make him a wonderful pet or driving donkey as well.

Jiggs' father is a NMDA National Champion, and his mother is a NMDA Grand Champion jennet.
Jiggs is trained to drive (pull a cart) and also lightly trained to do in-hand obstacles. Jiggs was excellent for his bath and haircut. He even allowed me to clip the inside of his ears with ease. Jiggs performed our water obstacles with a little coaching and jumped like a champ. He will also side-pass with no hesitation. We really love driving this boy. He is a show donkey deluxe that is very willing to do all that you ask of him. Jiggs is a sweet boy that is easy to catch and handle. The first time we showed Jiggs he won 1st out of 19 entries in the solid color class at Music City National Miniature Donkeys Association Show!
Jiggs is up to date on all vaccinations including Eastern/Western Encephalitis, Rhino, Tetanus, Influenza, Rabies and West Nile. His teeth have been floated and his wolf teeth have been pulled. He has a negative coggins report dated 4/17/19. Jiggs has been sold along with a brand new easy entry cart and top of the line harness.
Mister Madison is as sweet as they come and we are pleased to offer him for sale. He has been shown in halter and won Grand Champion Gelding and he has been lightly started in performance with in-hand events. He has a very calm easy going demeaner and it would not take a lot of training to make him a competitive show donkey in performance. He is very heavy boned and correct with 'buttons' on each fetlock that make him really stand out.
Mr. Madison is up to date on all vaccinations including Eastern/Western Encephalitis, Rhino, Tetanus, Influenza, Rabies and West Nile. He has a negative coggins report dated 4/17/19. He gets along with other donkeys and he is super easy to handle. He comes with a new halter and lead rope and many other extras. Maddie gets along well with other geldings but he cannot be kept with jennets as he chases them when they come in season. He has no problems whatsoever being kept with other geldings whether they be big or small or young or old.
Update! Maddie is now in driving and in-hand training and he is doing quite well. So far we have only line driven
him but as his training progresses we will increase his price.

Sparky is a super friendly donkey that is trained to pull a cart. He is considered green broke as he has only had about six months of driving experience but he is a very good driver. He moves out and does not become upset or distracted by people or noise. He is handsome enough to win blue ribbins in halter classes and a talented driver that is stout enough to carry twice his weight in a cart. Sparky is up to date on all vaccinations including Eastern/Western Encephalitis, Tetanus, Rhino, Influenza, West Nile, Rabies and Botulism. He is easy to catch and handle. He even lets me clip the inside of his ears with no assistance. He has a current negative coggins report. He would do best with another gelding as a friend as he likes to be the boss of all the donkeys in a pasture...even the jennets. We will be glad to hold him on lay-a-way at no extra cost if you make payments monthly. Sparky was in our lay-a-way plan for a customer in Idaho who backed out of his purchase due to health issues. Her loss is your gain as he is now back up for sale again.
Sparky would make a wonderful show gelding.

El-Leigh's first foal started arriving late Thursday night and we rushed to the barn to help her deliver. El-Leigh had no milk so we called our vet to give her medicine to help her milk drop. In the meantime we gave the foal artificial colostrum and attempted to milk our other moms to give the baby something to eat while we were waiting for his mom's milk to come in. Luckily we had just purchased an UdderlyEZ milk machine that helps extract milk easily from the moms. We had to make a frantic call to Lucy at Mossy Oaks Farm in California to give us advice on how to use the machine. We had never even taken it out of the box. This machine works great on jennets that are full of milk but did not work at all on our jennets that already had foals on their sides nursing. To make a long story short...by the time we had tried all of our jennets unsuccessfully for their milk El-Leigh's milk suddenly came in and we were able to milk her and give the foal his first milk. We went to the house to get some rest and observed on our barn cam that El-Leigh was finally letting the foal nurse on his own. A big 'Thank You!' to Lucy Morrell for her advice and support during this scary ordeal. Photos and videos will be posted soon!
We have found Rufus the most wonderful home where his mom and his mom's lifelong best friend can be together forever! Rufus has been named by his new owner.

This donkey is being sold for the John Willard Estate. John sadly suddenly passed away and his family has asked us to find perfect homes for all of John's beloved donkeys.
Beretta's registration papers have his color as black but he is a dark red/brown. His registration papers and transfer are all in order.
Beretta is very intelligent and eager to learn and could one day make a top notch halter and performance gelding if you desired to spend the time with him. He absolutely loves attention. He is very easy to care for and does all his business in one neat pile. He can be pastured with foals or jennets. He gets along with them all. As you can see in the video he has a slight overbite but it does not affect him in any way. He will just need to have his teeth floated once per year like all donkeys need.
Beretta will be vaccinated with Prestige 5 + West Nile before he leaves for his new home so he will not require any vaccinations for a year. This vaccination includes Eastern/Western Encephalitis, Tetanus, Rhino, Influenze and West Nile. He was vaccinated for Rabies on 6/07/17 and we give that vaccine every three years. He had his hooves last trimmed by a professional farrier in February 2019 but they will be trimmed again before he leaves for his new home. He has been dewormed regularly He has a negative coggins report dated 3/13/19.
As always a big 'thank you' to my friend and partner, Katie Randall, for handling all the donkeys for their photos and videos.

This handsome little boy just arrived at Half Ass Acres. Petey is up to date on all vaccinations including Tetanus, Eastern/Western Encephalitis, Rhino, Influenza and Rabies. He has had his initial vaccination plus his booster one month later so he is good for one year on his vaccinations. He has a current negative coggins report. His hooves have been freshly trimmed and he has been dewormed four times. He has been microchipped and his registration papers are back and in order and the transfer will be ready to be mailed off in your name. You will recieve a hard cover book with all of Petey's records including care instructions, an exclusive Half Ass Acres T-shirt and ballcap along with other extras that will look great wrapped under the tree. Petey has a dilute gray/navy eye color that really makes him special. We expect him to mature somewhere between 30" to 31" tall at maturity. He is registered as black with a cross but, in my humble opinion, he is a very dark brown. No matter what color.... he is tiny and precious.
